So very nice to meet you! I'm overjoyed to officially be part of the MPWRD Team - Touring Catalyst Crew! My name is Shayna Schuermann and hail from the beautiful PNW, specifically Lake Stevens, WA. My disc golf journey began not long ago in August 2020, all thanks to my wonderful husband who introduced me to the sport at Lake Stevens Disc Golf Course - yep, the one with the "egg" shaped baskets!

 

I was always active in competitive sports growing up, but hadn't found one in adulthood that gave me the same satisfaction or drive, until now. Over the past year, not only has disc golf afforded me a positive competitive outlet, but it has also allowed me to be a contributor to our local ladies league (WA CCC), spend quality time with my husband and son (who also play), acquire new genuine friendships, travel and explore unseen courses/areas, participate in community service endeavors, networking opportunities, and now a sponsorship that empowers women to recreate what it is they can be, do, and achieve within our sport! I mean really, how cool is that in a years time?!

 

Needless to say, I am elated for the chance to be involved in this movement and look forward to empowering other ladies of all ages to get involved in this sport. Now, get out there and Throw Like A Girl!
